The UPEI Crew (Jenn MacDonald, Leanne Doiron & Myself) |
Myself and two other UPEI Education students are leaving tomorrow (Sunday, March 10th) for Nairobi, Kenya to do a safari before heading to our main destination of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for our 6 week placement. We are teaching English at the Meskaye Hizunan Medhane Alem Monastery School which has the quant number of 2300 students. The official language in Ethiopia is Amharic and they operate on a different calendar than we do, so it is roughly 2005. They also operate on a 12 hour clock, so if I were to wake up at 7 am, it it really 1 o'clock.....very confusing. Anyway I will try my best to keep this updated, but Ethiopia does have the third worst Internet connection in the world!
